Identifying Early Signs of Amblyopia

Zietchick Research Institute has dedicated years of research in identifying early signs of eye diseases and developing new treatments to combat such diseases. Researchers at the Zietchick Research Institute say that it is crucial to have children as early as three years old get screened and checked for amblyopia, or more commonly known as lazy eye. Studies show that the best time to get children checked for amblyopia is when they are between 3 and 5 years old. This period is crucial because detecting the disease at the earliest time possible makes the treatment more effective and prevents long-term complications, like permanent loss of eyesight. Screening services are offered by vision screeners at nursery schools, kindergartens, and daycare centers. What happens when you suffer from a lazy eye? Lazy eye results in poor vision among children. In most cases, when one suffers from amblyopia, the sight of one eye is clearer and stronger than the other. Hence, the weak eye becomes lazy....
